My task was to 'Use your knowledge of statistics to help you create a graph that reflects (shows) a story of soldiers from the first Maori contingent'.

My task was to Write a letter to the editor sharing your reasons why conscription of men who the government had disappointed should not be allowed. Remember this is a persuasive text so you will need to use emotive words and give clear examples to support your reasons.

The Maori Pioneer Battalion - Writing

This is my google poster I created using google draw. The task was to You are one of the 500 men in the Maori Contingent. You boarded the the troop ship ‘Te Hokowhitu-a-tu’ in February 1915. Describe on a page in your diary how you felt hearing the words “Haere e tama ma. Haere me te whakaaro ki te pupuri i te rongo toa a o tatou tipuna. Kia wehi ki whakaaro kite pupuri i te rongo toa a o tatou tipuna. Kia wehiki te Atua. Whakahonoretia te kingi.” (“Farewell, young men. Go and uphold the name of our warrior ancestors. Fear God. And honour the king.”) as you set sail for Egypt. I wrote this in Maori to make it more realistic and effective, along with the background to make it seem as if it's a page out of a book/diary.

The Maori Pioneer Battalion - Design

This is my poster I created using google draw. The task was to Design a poster calling for men to join the native Maori contingent. The words translated into english mean - War is here! Fight for your people! Fight for your family! Fight for your country! Fight for your King! O people, prepare yourselves for battle! Spring up! Spring up!. I used this background to make it look as if it was a poster used to call men before WW1.

The Maori Pioneer Battalion - Picture This

This is my photo collage on the Maori Pioneer Battalion. My task was to Create a collage of images that depict (show) the WW1 journey of these brave men. I created this collage using fotor.

The Maori Pioneer Battalion - Biography

This is my poster I created on the biography of Henare Mo-kena Ko-here. My task was to retell a soldiers story in the Maori Pioneer Battalion WW1. I found an image online to use as my background to make it more effective. I made the writing cursy to make this biography look like it was written back then. All the information is acurate.
