Kia Ora Yvette,
This is such a sad story. I think you have picked up a very important aspect about keeping safe in the water, notifying someone of your whereabouts and time of return. I wonder if he would have survived if he had the lifejacket on? I really enjoyed my time in your school this week and especially having the opportunity to talk with you. Thank you for sharing your learning with me. It is great to be able to follow your journey on your blog. Keep up the great work this year! You will be an amazing Manaiakalani Leader! Tania

Hi Yvette,
Your current events story is such a sad and interesting story at the same time. It's really sad to hear that more people are drowning in NZ this year. Keep up the great work!
