Music: Xylophone

Today, we had our music session with our teacher since our music teacher is still recovering from her injuries. We practiced playing 'when the saints come marching in' on the xylophones. At first when we played it together as a class, without much practice, it was really everywhere! (we weren't playing it in time). Our teacher had an idea to partner with the person we were sharing our music with and learn it how to play it in time together and go over some notes. After we got it in time order with our partner, we buddied up with another pair and practiced it in time order with them. It was tricky at first because we were confused of how fast or slow we were meant to go. But in my group, we sang the song to the notes so we were able to see the speed we need to play at. Afterwards, when we spent some time in our groups on it, we played it to the class; group by group. Every group sounded amazing! Even though there were slight speed differences, overall, it was really good. When we played it as a class, it came out better than I expected. One of the students using the xylophones had a ring after playing a note which sounded really cool. It was a great lesson! I can't wait until next week!
