My Netbook reflection

Hi my name is Yvette Brennan and I go to Panmure Bridge School. I am a year 5 student in room 7.

I enjoy using my netbook because I have a neater presentation when I work. I have my own netbook so I don’t need to use other peoples netbooks and they don’t need to use my netbook. I can find out more information from websites.

My internet runs slow. When my batteries very low it shuts down by itself. Sometimes I need to shut down my netbook and turn it back on because it doesn’t work.

I’m not learning how to write I’m learning how to type. I really enjoy having a netbook, it’s really easy to do things faster and learn new things about netbooks everyday.

My time at Manaiakalani Film Festival

The whole senior school went to see the Manaiakalani film festival. Rm 7 got to sit in the higher and warmer chairs in the back while the others had to sit in singles. All the shows were great but my favourite was this one....

I recommend this movie because the main character thinks hard about what he wants to be when he grows up and he imagines what it would be like.

Art time

My Ingrid Banwell Art Reflection

How well did I include the elements of Ingrid Banwell’s work?
My borders have the same colours I used in my frame. I have colourful patterns in my trees.

Something I really like about my art is that my frame is nice and colourful.

Something I would improve if I could is make my sky a little whiter.

My speech reflection

My Speech Reflection

Learning Intention:  To write an interesting speech and present it to the class.

How well did I do with my speech?

My speech topic was interesting because the audience sat quietly and listened to me.
My voice was clear and was heard. My volume was loud enough for the audience to hearI stood still and relaxed and didn’t fiddle around.
The hardest part of speeches was doing eye contact to the audience.
I am proud of not getting nervous and speaking clearly.
Next time I will do better at my eye contact.

subtracting to 100

Subtracting to 100

Remember to show the way you worked out each question:

  1. 27-15= 20 - 10 = 10 + 7 - 5 = 12.
  2. 46-24= 46 - 20 = 26 - 4 = 22
  3. 46-29= 40 -20 = 20 + 6 - 9 =17
  4. 65-37= 65 - 30 = 35 - 7 = 28
  5. 82-58= 80 - 50 = 30 + 2 - 8 = 24

Write the number sentence for each problem and show how you worked out your answer.

  1. If you had 76 cookies and your friend ate 38 of them.  How many would you have left?
    76-38=
    70 -  30 = 40 + 6 - 8 = 38
  2. If there was 52 leaves on a tree and 39 leaves fell off.  How many would be left on the tree?
    52-39= 52 - 30 = 22 - 9 = 13
  3. If you had 43 lollies and your teacher ate some and you were left with 26.  How many did your teacher eat?
    43-26=
    40 - 20 =20 + 3 - 6 = 17
  4. You had 36 felts and you left the lids off 18 of them.  How many still have lids on them?
    36-18= 36 -10 = 26 - 8 = 18
  5. There were 48 mandarins in the bucket, George ate 12, Mary ate 7 and Bob ate 9.  How many mandarins are left in the bucket?
           48-12-7-9= 40 - 10 = 30 + 8 - 2 = 36 - 7 -9 = 20

Adding Tens and Ones

  1. 56 + 33=  50+30=80  6+3=9  80+9=89
  2. 77 + 41=   70+40=110  7+1=8 110+8=118
  3. 82 + 55=   80+50=130  2+5=7  130+7=137
  4. 61 + 65=   6 tens plus 6 tens equals 12 tens which is 120. 1 ones plus 5 ones equals 6 ones so therefore this makes 120+6=126.
This task was so fun to do I hope I get a million more to do.I liked it when we didn't need any help. The hard bit was when I don't remember because there was no hard bit.

Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Bella

Once upon a time there lived a beauty queen called Snow white. Snow white was a lovely lady she would help others with their scars, she would be helpful and would always show kindness to others. Her best friends were called Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Bella. The village they all lived in was called Springfield. There was only one person that caused trouble to Springfield, that person was the Wicked Witch of the West. She would bring her people to their village and break down their houses and steal their things. Everyone in the village wanted the witch dead so they teamed up together, even Snow White and her friends joined in to help. So their plan was to circle her house and the others would take an axe and break her house down as a warning if she ever did bad things to their town again they would kill her. When the witch came back and said "My house was right here’
then she saw all the pieces of her house broken down. She was so anxious she went back to the village and said "I'm so sorry I will never wreck your village again"

And...they all lived happily ever after.

trikids

On Wednesday,Thursday and Friday of March the whole school at different times went to practice for Tri Kids for Friday.Tri Kids means three different sports we’re doing. The three different sports that we’re doing is swimming, biking and running. When it was our turn to practice we had to walk onto the field and sit on a huge blue mate they seated up for us to sit on.Half of the girls in my class went first. The first thing they had to do was to run to a bike grab the helmet and put it on then take it back off and run into the pool.Once you are in the pool you need to do two laps around the pool then run to your bike. After you found your bike you will need to pick up your helmet and put it on then run your bike to the cones and start to ride your bike around the flags once. When you’ve finished doing that you park your bike in the same place and start running between the cones until you reach the end.The next day we did the same.Until it came to the finals when on finals all of the girls went first. This time instead of going in the the pool they setted up a water slide. The people that came 1,2,3,4 in the finals was Kyra,Leenas,Yvette and Lavinia. All the people from all different classes that made it in did the real race after lunch. When we sat on the mat they told us that we had to slide down the waterslide 4 times and bike around the flags 2 times and run 2 times.I don’t know what i come but i’m happy i tried my best. The person that came first out of the girls was Leenas and the first person out of the boys was Patrick.

Doctor Ben Carsen trip

Tuesday we walked to the driveway in two silent lines waiting for the bus to take us to see Doctor Ben Carson speak. Only 80 people went . That was room 7, 6 and 5. Most of them stayed behind. When we got there we waited for 20 minutes before we could go inside the theatre. We waited and waited then it was time to go in the theatre. When we went inside they put a song on before they started speaking. The song was the duffy song. Then there on the stage came Doctor Ben Carson’s friend Henry. Mostly he talked about the beauty of books and how you can learn from books. Then it was time for Doctor . Ben Carson to speak. He showed us a video of when he was young. It was about when he was wanted to be a Doctor. Doctor Ben Carson was a bully so his mother helped him by giving him books to read. told him your only allowed to watch television three times a week. The rest of your spare time you will go to the library and pick out two books and read them and when you finished reading them you will write me a report about the books. After Doctor.Ben Carson read many books he decided he wanted to be a Doctor, when Dr. Ben Carson grew up he decided he wanted to be a lawyer.A couple of months later he wanted to be a differant kind of Doctor. Later it was time to go . When we left they gave out free Up and Go  drinks and one apple each

THE END.

Outcomes of Bullying

They would feel angry, unhappy, sad, lonely, left out
They would feel hurt, shocked, frightened and terrified.
