Melting Pot Mash Up

I created an imovie based around the lyrics of the 'melting pot' song. This song was a huge hit in New Zealand because it talked about different cultures coming together.

Why is Facebook a problem?

Why is facebook a problem?

Do you know what Facebook is? Facebook is one of the most popular social networking sites in the world. But over the years, Facebook has been turning into the worlds biggest black hole.

For starters, many kids are under the age limit to be using Facebook, yet they still do. This is illegal! These under age children are not aware of what could happen to them. This leads children to get involved in sticky situations.

Facebook affects the minds of children. Facebook is addictive! Children all over the world go on Facebook more than 3 times a day for an hour or more. This causes a massive drop in grades!

Some kids have more than 500 friends. That is okay, unless these friends are people you do not know. Kids get in dangerous situations when they socialize with anonymous people. Some kids don’t understand the dangers out in the world! Children can be given fake information by their anonymous friend like their age and name.

As kids, we need to be careful of who we socialize with. There are a lot of dangers socializing with random people, we need to start realizing the situations that could happen and think more carefully of how we can resolve this. It is true to say, Facebook is ruining minds.

Mum
Dad
Zac
Callie
Mr Samuels
Mrs Samuels
Cat
Photo:
Name:
Olivia Wilde
Robert Pattinson
Jake T.Austin

Cat
Why:
Olivia Wilde has the same positive and cheerful personality as the mum in my book.
I can picture him as the dad in this book.
He nearly matches the skin tone as mum and callie. He also looks like a good boy who would search forever to find his pet cat, just like Zac in the book.
She looks like the perfect child to have.
He would be the guy to help out his neighbours.
She is a perfect match next to Andrew Garfield, and she is very nice.
This cat is soooo cute, it was just meant to be!

Character:
Mum
Lolly
Pug
Dylan
Photo:

Angelina Jolie

Because she is old enough to have kids and she has the same skin colour as Lolly and Dylan.
Lolly is meant to be a pretty teenager, and Selena is pretty and she looks like a teenager.
Logan is the only cute baby boy actress that I know.
Dylan is the main character, and the main character needs to be good looking. Through my eyes, Jake is good looking.
Description:
The mum is very over protective.
Lolly is bossy and always teasing her brother Dylan.
Pug is 3 years old and is adorable.
Dylan hates being treated like a kid.

Sidekick

Title - THE END OF THE BEGINNING
Author -
Type of book - Adventure/Humorous

The main character did need a sidekick. I would help Avon (the snail), have an adventure, and along the way remind him of what happens on adventures.

Me and Avon are walking on one of the thinnest branches on the tree, suddenly we hear a crack. The branch was breaking, we were in the middle, and as a snail, it would take Avon a lifetime to get off the branch. As for me, I am a small ant, I could just run off the branch to my safety, and that's exactly what I did. I ran until I reached the start of the branch, I turned around, Avon couldn't believe that I left him. Avon tried to get off the branch, but it was useless. Every movement he made, the branch cracked. That's when I came in, riding on a bird, I couldn't believe that Avon thought i would leave him to his death. The bird grabbed Avon just before the branch broke. Avon thanked me 100 times. We asked the bird if he could drop us off to our home.

Rewrite the Ending

Title - Cocky
Author - Elizabeth Pulford
Type of book - Humorous
Why my ending is better? - I like my ending better because in the story, the young boy got away for what he had done. It was his fault he opened the box and the cage, he needed to be punished.

Aunt Eva and Mum arrive home. I tried to act as normal as i could. I tried not to imagine all the horrible chores I would be given if Aunt Eva found out I opened her box. Aunt Eva walked over to the box and opened it. She lifted a cage out of the box and inside the cage was a bird. I tried to act like it was my first time seeing the bird, but it was hopeless. I would rate my acting 0/10. Aunt Eva grew suspicious, I had no other chose than to confess. I explained how I opened the bird cage because I thought the bird was dead, then the bird flew out, then the cat tried to eat the bird, then everything went funny, but in the end I managed to get the bird safely back into the cage. I smiled, hoping I wouldn't get in trouble. Aunt Eva laughed and said "boy, you wouldn't imagine what I have in store for you".

Casting Choices

- Title - The Twits
- Author - Roald Dahl
- Type of Book - Humorous

Character Name:
Mr Twit
Mrs Twit
Photo:
Name:
Sir Ian McKellen
Ashley Fink
Why:
I chose this actor because Mr twit is a hairy-faced man, and Sir Ian McKellen looks nearly the exact same as Mr Twit.
I chose this actress because in some movies she’s in, her character matches Mrs Twit.
Description from book:
Mr twit was one of these very hairy-faced men.  The whole face except for his forehead, his eyes and his nose was covered with thick black hair.
Mrs twit was no better than Mr twit. She did not, of course, have a hairy face. It was a pity she didn’t because that at any rate would have hidden some of her fearful ugliness.
