Day 1# Of The School Holidays By Yvette

Day 1# Of The School Holidays
Today I am going to my brothers soccer game again (BORING!!). I have plans that me and my dad are going to MCDONALDS for breakfast. (YUM YUM). I am going to order a hot chocolate and I bet my dad is going to buy coffee. I love MCDONALDS hot chocolate because they make huge hot chocolates and they taste soooooooo good. My other brother and my mum are going to stay home and watch TV or go to sleep. But I am sure my brother is going to be playing X - Box.

I have another plan which is going to play at the park until my brother’s game finishes. (HA HA HA). The park may be small but has so many things you can play on. (SO COOL).

WELL THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS THAT MIGHT HAPPEN IN THE MORNING TODAY!!!
I will update my blog about what i did in the morning when i come back home

Catch ya later. :)

What I Did Today By Yvette

What I Did Today
Today was the last day of school for me. I go to Panmure Bridge School in Panmure Auckland. Today after school by dad, brother and I went to my brother’s soccer practice. My brother plays for fencibles in howick. We left home at 4:00 pm and arrived at his training and game ground at 4:16 pm. Unfortunately my brothers coach texted him the wrong time to get there. he was supposed to get there  at 5:00 but his coach told him to be there at quarter past 4:00. Luckily some of his teammates were there for him to hang out with or train with until the big match started. While we were waiting my dad and I went to Carl's Juniors for some food. I had a Western double bacon cheeseburger(YUMMY!!!), My dad had a low carb burger(BORING!!1).

I was so full after that burger and I still needed to eat chips. If you haven’t ordered medium sized chips at Carl's Juniors they are so HUGE. when you go to MCDonalds and you buy small sized chips,  Carl's Juniors chips are 3 times bigger. and has 4 times more chips inside. Once we finished eating we went back to my brother’s home ground and watched him play. Technically I didn’t watch him play, instead I went to go play at the new park that has just been built right next to the ground. It was so cool. Sadly my brother and his team lost their game against this other. I totally forgot the name of the other team.

After the game finished my dad, brother and I went home. during the journey home we played I spy to keep something happening in the car.

That is the end of what I did today.

My Matinee Reflection on Todays Performance By Yvette

My Matinee Reflection
On the 24.9.13 at roughly 11:00am, Panmure Bridge School presented their production item in front of East Tamaki students and teachers also Panmure Bridge students parents. Room 5 students stored some of their props and equipment in room 4 and 10. Room 4 split their class into 2 so we knew which class was which and we had too many props in room 5, we needed to store our props in another room. Students in room 5 needed to wait, about an hour until is was their cue to get on stage. It was really hard to get some props from room 4 and room 10 because the weather was appalling. It was raining heavily upon us.

The hardest props were the waka’s, because they were really big and could get damaged easily. When room 5 students started their production item, I believed everyone was confident because they said their lines correctly. The only upsetting problems was not everyone was projecting their voice. Mr Johnston stood at the back to see who was speaking loud enough for the audience at the back so they could hear their voices loud and clear. Also at the end when we get off the stage the people who carry the waka need to go out first so they could put the waka back to its original place so it wouldn’t break and fall apart.

Students who carry boxes and other props need to know where they go. Also we have been shown where we sit and how we sit. There needs to be 4 aside and no one can be sitting past the first big line or else you would be squashed by parents. I believe Lavinia (Papa Earth Mother), Fine (Hine Nui I Te Po) and Patrick (Tuteraki Whano) needs to let their voices project and speak louder so the parents at the back can hear their voices. Also the people with speaking parts need to use actions when they say something.

Latham and his production brothers need to be a lot faster when they put on their mountain costumes. Also they need to know who is holding the oars so it does not look wrong when they get up on stage and start using the waka. Also students need to look at the person they are talking to and the audience too so they can get involved too. Besides that everyone did an amazing job and room 5’s costumes look amazing and stunning.

Overall I believe room 5 is ready for the big night where all the parents can see our beautiful production item on Aoraki and the Southern Alps.

My Reflection On My Production By Yvette

My Reflecton On my Production Item

Storyline:
Our classroom’s storyline is a Maori myth. Our storyline is about Aoraki and his 3 brothers setting sail to search for  new land. A storm hit and Aoraki and his 3 brothers were flung onto rocks. The waka turned into a long piece of land and the 4 brothers turned into great stone mountains. Aoraki was the biggest mountain, his brothers were smaller mountains around him. When Aoraki didn’t return home his family and friends became worried. They decided to set sail to find Aoraki and his 3 brothers.
Actors, backstage people:
Everyone in our class is participating in this production item. The main characters in this production are Lavinia(Papa Earth Mother), Halaiano(Rangi Sky Father), Angel(Narrator), Patrick(Tuteraki Whanoa), Fine(Hine Nui E Te Po), Aoraki Rakiroa Rakirua Rarakiroa(Latham, Creedance, Cyprus and John). The Flowers, Tree, Fish, Mountains and Fruit trees are also main characters at the back of the stage. Some year 7 & 8’s are going to be backstage if anyone needs help. Nearly everyone made their own costumes.
Room 5’s role:
Our school has been learning about landforms. Our class production item is about Aoraki and his 3 brothers and the Southern Alps.
Props that need to be made and completed:
All the props have been made except for the Mosquito Wings, Tu’s waka and the oars for the waka. Besides them we are almost done with making props.
How are costumes made and what are they made out of:
Some  costumes have been bought but have been painted or drawn on. Other costumes have been made out of cardboard, wood and paper. Costumes are made by cutting out shapes and making them according to the production design. The cardboard, wood and paper have been painted to match the costume that it needs to look like.
(Practice) & (Progress) For people with lines:
I believe the characters with lines have put their best   effort into speaking loud, using actions and using expression. I truly believe everyone with a speaking part has progressed amazingly. From the start of our practices some characters were  poor, pathetic and not using expression, but now a lot of people are Excellent.
(Voice) (Body)  & (Expression ):
Everyone is using their bodies to do actions. Most people are using a lot of expression to make their part realistic. Everyone’s voices are progressing fast. I believe people are waiting for the big night to do their best, realistic, amazing performance.
Improvement:
I believe the only people that need to improve is  Angel(narrator) to know her timing when the music comes on to stop or keep speaking. Also Patrick(Tuteraki whanau) To shout when his part to find Aoraki comes on and Lavinia(Papa Earth Mother) to use more expression in her role.
